Summary and relationship to the curriculum: All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the District’s mission. This position provides safe and timely pupil transportation services to and from home and school.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operates a school bus, to include loading and unloading, in a safe and timely manner in order to transport students in accordance with State and Federal laws and regulations.
Ensures proper loading and securement of wheelchairs and other equipment as required.
Manages student behavior on the bus and communicates with parents as Refers infractions to the appropriate personnel.
Completes inspections prior to and after each operation and reports deficiencies immediately according to established
Completes post-trip student-checks after each route following District procedures.
Complies with assigned pick up and drop off locations and
Continually updates route sheets and student rosters for
Reports all accidents and emergencies immediately as outlined in department and District procedures and policies.
Maintains external and internal cleanliness of bus for safe and comfortable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaches at an appropriate instructional level.
Provides teacher-focused and student-focused content development.
Provides initial focus, content emphasis and linking, and lesson summaries
Assesses and encourages student progress.
Monitors student progress.
Responds to adequate and inadequate student performances.
Supports students.
Handles non-instructional tasks efficiently and uses instructional time appropriately.
Maintains effective physical setting for instruction.
Maintains appropriate student behavior in the classroom.
Follows professional practices consistent with school system, and state policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues.
Interacts in a professional manner with staff, students, and parents.
Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications.
Maintains confidentiality of students and student records.
Works cooperatively with school administrators, special support personnel, colleagues, and parents.
Complies with school, system, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies.
Conducts assigned classes at the times scheduled.
Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
Provides adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teacher.
Maintains accurate, complete, and appropriate records and files reports promptly.
Attends and participates in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy.
Complies with conditions as stated in contract.
Demonstrates professional practices in teaching.
Models correct use of language, oral and written.
